Overview
Ladakh is the most prominent for its beauty, culture and traditions along with the beauty of its high remote mountains and upper Indus River Valley. Ladakh has one international border with China and has a line of control with Pakistan (or Pakistan occupied Kashmir). Ladakh is a dry region, with average rainfall of 100 mm, hence is known as a cold desert. Ladakh is an alluring land which attracts most discerning tourists. The culture is influenced by Indo Tibetan, Ladakh is also called The Land of Mountain Passes. The region comes under the state of Jammu and Kashmir, it is the home of Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, high passes, sand dunes, little hamlets and beautiful lakes. Itinerary
Day 1: Delhi- Leh (By Flight)
On arrival at Delhi airport, take flight to Leh. On arrival in Leh, check-in at the hotel and have the breakfast. Rest day is free just relax and keep your body to adjust the high altitude. In the evening, visit Shanti Stupa, it is located from 5 kilometers away from the Leh, it was constructed by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu, Gyomyo Nakamura in 1991 and it was inaugurated by the 14th Dalai Lama. Later visit Chowkang monastery and local market.
Day 2: Leh -Indus Valley Tour
After breakfast, proceed on a full day excursion to the Indus Valley monasteries. Visit Stok Palace, Thiksey, Hemis, Stagna & Changchubling monasteries. Thereafter, have your delicious lunch. Overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.
Day 3: Leh - Nubra Valley (Valley of Flowers)
After breakfast, proceed to Nubra Valley (125 kilometer) via the famous Khardongla Pass. This valley is located at the banks of the pure Nubra River. The Valley is also called the Valley of the flowers, which contained the vibrant, colourful and the most beautiful flowers set amidst lush green landscape. It is also one of the most famous attraction of the Leh Ladakh. It is located from approximately 115 kilometres from Leh.
Upon arrival, check in at the camp in Nubra. In the afternoon, visit Panamic Hot Springs and Samstanling. Overnight Stay in Camp.
Day 4: Nubra Valley
Today post breakfast, proceed to explore the Nubra Valley. Visit the silver sand dunes near Hunder village and enjoy a safari ride on the back of a double humped Camel and Diskit & Hunder villages. Enjoy lunch during the day. Stay overnight in the camp.
Day 5: Nubra Valley - Leh
After bfreakfast, visit small Yarabtso Lake, Later, and return back to Leh via Khardongla Pass. Upon arrival, check in to hotel. Rest day is free at leisure,in the evening, just roam around Leh market and buy some authentic items of Ladakh . Overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 6: Leh- Pangong
In the morning, proceed for full day excursion to Pangong Lake which is located at the distance of 135 kilometers east of Leh via the Changla Pass and drive past Durbuk and Tangste villages in the Changthang region of Ladakh. It is one of the most amazing lakes in Asia and changes its color 4 to 5 times in a day. Late evening, check in to a camp or local guest house in Pangong for overnight stay.
Day 7: Pangong -Stok
Today after breakfast, proceed to visit Chemdey monastery & Indus river banks. Later proceed to Stok. Stok or Stak is village is located in the Indus Valley, which is located at the distance of 17 kilometers southeast of Leh, where is situated the Stok Monastery, a museum and gompa.
On arrival, check in at the hotel in Stok. In the evening, visit the Stok village and meet a local family. Enjoy Ladakhi Butter tea and barley drink. Stay overnight at Skittsal Resort hotel in Stok.
Day 8: Stok - Ulleytokpo
Post breakfast, drive to Ulleytokpo. On the way, visit the Maitreya Buddha statue at Likir and the 1000 year old murals of Alchi monastery. Upon arrival in Ulleytokpo check in at the resort for overnight stay.
Day 9: Ulleytokpo
In the morning, after breakfast, proceed to an excursion to the Lamayuru Monastery, Rizong Nunnery and Lunar Landscapes. Have lunch during the day. On arrival check in the resort. Stay overnight in Ulley.
Day 10: Ulleytokpo - Leh Sightseeing
Post breakfast, proceed to Leh , which is located at the distance of 70 kilometers away from Ulleytokpo . On the way, visit Spituk Monastery was established by Od-de the elder brother of Lha Lama Changchub Od in 11th century, Military Hall of Fame, The museum was founded and maintained by the Indian Army. It consist of the knowledge about Leh and Ladakh and its history, culture and also the information about the flora and fauna of this region. Also it contains the various information on the various monarchs of Leh, battles they fought, is also on display and Magnetic Hill, It is the one of the most famous attraction of the Leh & Ladakh region. Gravity hill has strong magnetic properties and cars are automatically pulled downhill.
Upon arrival check in to hotel, rest day is free or you can do last minute shopping. Stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 11: Leh - Delhi
